Mike Hays

Mike Hays began making pottery at age 11 in 1976, and sold his first order in 1977. After years of making pottery off and on (depending on the availability of facilities), Mike developed his own technique. He created unique styles for making his wheel-made high fired stoneware and true porcelains.

The glazes are quartz type and lead-free. They are harder and more durable than glass. They are also fused to the surface of the piece. The bodies of the pieces are vitrified and won't take in moisture and harbor bacteria.
